Getting started with reports

This help article explains the different reports available in Goalspot, how to generate them and some tips and tricks.

Overview of report types

You can generate seven different report types in Goalspot:

  1. Goals summary: a report showing all the goals in a particular Goal Set
  2. All current & previous goals: a report showing all of the goals for a client across all of their current and previous Goal Sets
  3. Blank data sheet: a blank data sheet with the goals from a particular Goal Set and columns for capturing data
  4. Week-by-week progress charts: graphs showing weekly progress for 12-weeks against each goal in a particular Goal Set
  5. Week-by-week progress table: a compact table showing weekly progress for 12-weeks against each goal in a particular Goal Set
  6. All notes: a report with all goal and session notes ever logged for a client

To generate a report simply click on the Reports tab in the left-hand navigation pane and choose the report type you want to create.

Goal summary report

You may want to share a copy of a client's Goal Set with their parents/caregivers, educators, or other health professionals.

Goalspot let's you generate pdf. or docx. files showing all the goals under a Goal Set with the click of a button. You can choose to generate summaries with the Goal Titles only, or with the Goal Titles and Goal Description.

Tip: you can further customise the summary in Microsoft Word or Google Sheets by generating a docx. file and editing this. This can be great if you want to add further commentary or detail for a particular recipient (e.g., a description of specific strategies a parent can use at home for a goal).

This short video demonstrates how to generate a Goal Set summary from the Reports tab:

All current and previous goals report

This report lets you download a csv. file containing a list of all the goals a client has ever worked on in Goalspot.

Tip: a csv. file can be opened in Microsoft Excel or any other similar spreadsheet software like Google Sheets

Blank data sheet

You might sometimes want to create a data sheet covering a client's goals. This can be useful for example if:

  • You want a person who doesn't have access to Goalspot to track some data against specific goals (e.g. a pre-school educator or a parent)
  • Your mobile device isn't working because the battery has died, or your updating the device
  • You know you'll be going somewhere where there is no internet access (e.g. a rural house visit)

Week-by-week progress charts

This report allows you to chart a client's progress across each goal over the course of 12-weeks.

You can choose the methodology used to chart the data from three options, by selecting your preferred methodology from the dropdown menu:

  1. Target Step
  2. Highest Step Achieved with a ‘+’
  3. Highest Step with Data

For an explanation of the difference between these charting methodologies see here.

The week-by-week charts show the progress on individual goals on a line graph with steps on the vertical axis, and weeks on the horizontal axis:

Week-by-week progress table

This report allows you to visualise a client's progress across each goal over the course of 12-weeks in a single, compact table.

You can choose the methodology used to chart the data from three options, by selecting your preferred methodology from the dropdown menu:

  1. Target Step
